Background of the study
Religious attitudes significantly influence social perceptions and human rights issues, particularly regarding LGBTQ+ individuals. In Uhunmwonde, prevailing religious doctrines shape community attitudes, often resulting in a complex interplay of acceptance, rejection, and calls for reform. Conservative interpretations of religious texts frequently contribute to stigma and discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals, while some progressive religious groups advocate for inclusivity and compassion (Adebayo, 2023). The debate is intensified by modern reinterpretations of sacred texts and evolving societal norms that challenge traditional views (Nwachukwu, 2024). Statement of the problem

The entrenched stigma, rooted in conservative religious interpretations, poses substantial barriers to social equity and human rights.
